ABOUT
Peace and Light studio is a commercial photographic and film studio located in Barnet, north London, near Hertfordshire. (Open Streetmap)

There are great transport links to the studio, which is a short 10 minute walk from High Barnet underground station as well as direct trains from Kings Cross and Old Street.

The studio is set on the top floor of a converted Victorian warehouse factory and boasts very high ceilings of over 25 ft and main studio floor area of approximately 500 (24 x 20) sq ft.

The studio is bright and airy with white walls, white ceilings and white floors. The huge windows providing fantastic natural light with dimensions of 10 ft by 4.5ft. There is a blackout option for artistic work and there are many different sets available.

Additional provisions are made for film productions such as extended opening hours and necessary equipment. The studio is versatile and also available for rehearsal purposes.

There is a range of facilities and equipment all included in the advertised rates, making our studio increasingly popular with amateurs and professionals alike. With an all-inclusive rate starting at £20 ph, the studio is ideal for commercial photoshoots and independent productions, See our facilities page for a full list of inclusive facilities and equipment.

The studio also holds events for amateur photographers, photography students, camera clubs, model days, beginners lighting workshops, and interactive training sessions led by professional photographers.

Photographers, photographic assistants, art directors, make up artists, models and wardrobe stylists can be recommended or arranged if required.

The atmosphere at the studio is private and relaxed with the studio manager available to offer assistance when required.

Damage Policy

Please be aware that any soiling or damage to background paper / lights / studio equipment will be charged at cost price.

Rates

• £20.00 per hour – 2 hrs minimum
• £60.00 4 hours half day @ £15.00ph
• £100.00 8 hours full day @ £12.50ph
• £10.00 per additional hours thereafter

Cancellation policy

Cancellations with less than 72 hours (3 days) notice will result in deposit being withheld.

• Black, White and Grey backgrounds included, other colours of colorama paper are available at £5.00 per metre
• Additional charges apply for video/continuous lights
• Same weekday and weekend rates apply

I found the Peace and Light studio in a web search for local studios in Barnet. It’s a very charismatic space with wonderful natural light but easily convertible to a conventional studio with colorama and conventional studio lighting. The very high ceiling and gallery offer a multitude of shooting possibilities. The booking process was very easy and the cost very reasonable. I had a great day shooting at the Peace and Light studio, it was a nice and relaxed environment, which I required as I was being photographed by my boyfriend. Sarah answered all our questions and helped out a lot during our stay. The studio is perfect for photography shoots, and it is the best value for money. The shower facilities also came in handy as I was completely covered in glitter and needed a shower by the end of the day. The outcome was really successful and I’m sure I will be back.

I found out about the studio from an Internet search for “North London Photography Studio” and found the booking process to be quick, efficient and easy. The location was easy enough to find, a short walk from the underground station. Sarah was very friendly and accommodating and the studio itself had a great look/feel, with a number of backgrounds/props available to use. I particularly liked the large windows. Very reasonably priced (I actually gave too much money without realising, and Sarah very honourably went out of her way to refund me the difference once she had noticed my mistake). I’d be more than happy to shoot there again and would recommend the studio to others.

The space was suitable for the shots I wanted to achieve, with different areas as potential backdrops for the shoot. The price per hour I found to be very reasonable. EVENTS

• Lighting Workshops and Photographer Training:

We invite top photographers and lighting technicians into the studio to provide training to small groups covering a range of styles including fashion, artistic and fine art, commercial and other genres.

• Model Days:

Independent models are present throughout the day in the studio working with a different photographer by the hour. These offer the more experienced photographers the opportunity to their studio portfolio

• Camera Clubs:

We book a model and give you the chance to try out studio photography. These are aimed specifically at camera clubs whose members may not have previous experience of studio photography.
